Earth Day started in 1970 to help people understand the importance of taking care of the environment. It has grown into a global event over the years, where people come together to make a difference. From recycling and planting trees to reducing waste, small actions add up to a big impact.

Join Our Earth Day Coloring Contest!
To make Earth Day even more exciting, Capital Waste Services is hosting a Coloring Contest for kids, customers, and Earth Day enthusiasts in your community! This is a great way for young artists to show their creativity while learning about sustainability and proper waste disposal. Here’s how it works:
- Download and Print: Download the Earth Day-themed coloring sheet featuring recycling, waste trucks, and more in your child's age range.
- Color & Create: Let your creativity shine using crayons, colored pencils, markers, and other materials
- Submit Your Artwork: Take a photo of the completed coloring page and submit it via email to sales@capwasteservices.com by April 7th, 2025.
- Vote: Voting will take place on our Facebook page, starting April 8th! Share our post with your friends, neighbors, and coworkers to share the word and have them like your child's art! Voting ends on April 21st.
- Win Fun Prizes: The winning photo with the most votes in each age group will be announced on our Facebook on Earth Day, April 22nd! The winning drawings will be featured on our social media, and winners will receive exciting waste and recycling themed prizes! More contest information is available on our Facebook
This Earth Day, we encourage everyone but more specifically all our CWS customers to take small steps that lead to a big difference—whether it’s reducing waste, recycling more, or composting.
